FAQs

Decorative cocktail sticks gained immense popularity during the 1920s and 1930s with the rise of cocktail culture, home entertaining, and the Art Deco movement, which favoured stylised, functional accessories.

These items were typically crafted using sterling silver, silver-gilt (vermeil), and early plastics such as Bakelite or casein, often housed in velvet and satin-lined fitted presentation cases.

Authentic pieces can often be identified through hallmark stamping on the metal components, the specific density and weight of the material, and characteristic tests such as the warm water or simichrome test for early plastics.

These items can be displayed on a bar cart, within a vintage drinks cabinet, or used functionally during hosting events to add a touch of period elegance to contemporary spaces.

Keep these items away from direct sunlight and harsh cleaning chemicals. Gently wipe the metal with a specialised silver cloth and clean the plastic components with a soft, damp cloth.
