A very original mid 18th century antique rushlight or nip. An early primitive form of antique lighting for country homes and farmhouses. Totally original having a square iron stem, the rushlight nip holder has a candle holder too. Mounted on the original elm shaped base. Stands firmly, the nip opens as it should, all in very good condition.
