The George V period, spanning from 1910 to 1936, often combined traditional Georgian and Victorian revival motifs with early modernist influences, resulting in refined craftsmanship and functional elegance.

These items are typically crafted from sterling silver, containing 92.5% pure silver, often formed through spinning, casting, and hand-hammering, followed by detailed soldering and polishing.

Authenticity is verified through official hallmarks stamped into the metal, which typically include the makers mark, the lion passant for sterling silver, the town assay office mark, and a date letter specific to the year 1914.

Such pieces can be used as functional table accents to hold fruit or floral arrangements, or displayed on a sideboard as a reflective metallic contrast against contemporary minimalist decor.

Antique silver should be cleaned sparingly using a non-abrasive silver cloth or specialised polish to maintain the patina, avoiding harsh chemical dips that can strip historical oxidisation.
