We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

Edwardian lighting often reflects a revival of classical motifs, drawing heavy inspiration from Greek and Roman architecture, combined with the technological advancements of early electric lighting.

These pieces were typically cast in solid brass, bronze, or copper, often utilizing heavy metal bases for stability and intricate surface detailing such as reeding and fluting.

Authentication relies on examining the weight of the metal casting, the presence of genuine patina, traditional hand-finished chasing, and period-appropriate internal wiring components or lampholders.

Pair the metallic finish with rich textiles, dark wood furniture, or neutral palettes to create a sophisticated focal point that bridges traditional craftsmanship with contemporary spaces.

Dust gently with a soft dry cloth and avoid harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive polishes that can strip the natural aged patina and damage the historic finish.
