A charming and rare antique 18th century small secretary’s bookcase, crafted in rich mahogany and showcasing excellent craftsmanship and fine quality throughout.

This beautifully proportioned piece stands on square legs and features a compact design, making it ideal for more intimate spaces or where space is at a premium.

The upper section features a glazed bookcase with two elegant glazed doors, opening to reveal three fully adjustable shelves—perfect for displaying books, ceramics, or collectibles. The central bureau is fitted with a drop-down writing flap, opening to a wonderfully detailed interior with multiple small drawers, pigeonholes, and miniature cupboards, offering both charm and practical storage.

Below the bureau are two small drawers, each retaining their original brass handles and fittings, adding to the authenticity and appeal of the piece. Subtly inlaid with ebony stringing, the desk boasts tasteful detailing and a rich, warm patina that highlights the natural beauty of the mahogany.

Please note the desk height is quite low at 57cm, making it especially suitable for use as a decorative or occasional writing piece rather than a full-time workstation.

All our pieces are professionally wrapped in black plastic and sent though a trusted private courier which we can organise upon your request.

The delivery service consists of a two man team with a delivery timeframe of 3 - 15 working days from the date payment has been received. Please contact us to discuss any specific requirements and we will do our upmost to accommodate these, although no guarantees can be given.

The courier will be in contact with you directly with details of exact delivery date and approximate time of arrival.

We currently cover all of the UK Mainlands including most of Scotland.
