In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

Edwardian lighting typically features a blend of refined craftsmanship and functional design, often utilizing brass and bronze materials influenced by both historical revivals and early industrial innovations.

Authentic period desk lamps were predominantly constructed from cast and turned brass, copper, or bronze components, often paired with weighted iron bases for stability.

Authenticity can be determined by examining the casting quality, screw threads, patina development, and historical wiring components such as ceramic bulb holders and key-turn switches.

Place the lamp on a dark wood desk or a minimalist sideboard to create a striking contrast between vintage metallic textures and modern clean lines.

Clean vintage brass gently with a soft, dry microfiber cloth to remove dust, avoiding abrasive polishes that can strip the natural aged patina.
