A very unusual English solid sterling silver desk accessory. It is hallmarked for Chester 1902 with the makers mark being JMB. It has been superbly designed having cord ends held by a silver band. These would have been used to dry the nib of a dip pen after use - although this one looks unused. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs. It measures approx. 6 inches long and weighs 36 grams. A very interesting piece.
