Antique Mahogany Revolving Bookcase

1900 - 1920
Description

A lovely mahogany revolving bookcase dating from the early 20th Century. It has two levels and stands on a rotating base with castors below.

It has a silver presentation plaque which is engraved "Portman Chapel. Presented together with a cheque for 21 guineas to Mr F.E.A.Williams, M.A. by the Incumbent, Church Workers & Children of the Sunday School & Band of Hope. In hearty appreciation of his work as Lay Reader. April 1897 - August 1900".

The wood has a nice rich colour and the whole piece is in very good condition with no major damages and revolves freely. There are signs of age and use, some minor knocks and light marks but nothing untoward or detrimental. It has been cleaned and lightly polished and is ready for use.
