Description

This fine Shahsavan flatweave has been woven with handspun wool and organic dyes which have produced a very attractive range of colours. The design of repeating bands is ubiquitous, rows of plain red and brown stripes interspersed with narrow rows of multicoloured repeating rhombi. However, it is the additional four sapphire blue bands with supplementary embroidery which stand out. Each band is decorated differently with repeating geometric ornamentation in shades of ivory and red. They are finely worked and very beautiful. This rare feature make the piece both collectible and highly decorative, working equally well on a floor or as wall art. In good condition, and professionally cleaned.
