Fantastically sparkly dormeuse-style earrings with crown-shaped silver settings and slightly rosy solid gold hinged backs. The fiery main stones, possibly rock crystal, are lovely large cushion cuts with the smaller pastes above tall old cuts.• Condition: In very good antique condition; the facets of the pastes are nice and crisp with just a few pits visible under magnification. The smaller pastes may once have been foiled at the back, there are a few tiny remnants, but little now remains.• Fixing: Hinged backs.• Era: Estimated Victorian (c.1837-1901).• Hallmarks/stamps: There are indistinct stamps at the top of the wires.• Size: Approximately 1.5cm drop from the top of the ear wire to the bottom of the cushion cut.
