Edwardian jewellery, spanning the reign of King Edward VII from 1901 to 1910, is characterised by light, airy designs, platinum settings, and the frequent use of diamonds and pearls to create lace-like, garland motifs.

These rings typically combined yellow gold bands with platinum-topped settings to enhance the brilliance of diamonds, a technique that maximised the white light reflection of early cut stones.

Authentic pieces often feature hand-cut stones such as old mine or old European cuts, delicate millegrain detailing, and period-appropriate hallmarks indicating metal purity and origin.

An antique ring can be worn alone as a statement piece or paired with minimalist modern bands to highlight its historical craftsmanship and distinctive stone arrangement.

Vintage pieces should be cleaned gently using warm water, mild soap, and a soft brush, avoiding harsh ultrasonic cleaners that can compromise delicate settings or older gemstones.
