Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. FAQs

Neoclassical design draws inspiration from the classical art and architecture of ancient Greece and Rome, prioritising symmetry, geometric proportion, and restrained ornamentation such as beaded borders and fluted columns.

These items are typically constructed from a base metal, such as copper or brass, which is then coated with a thin layer of silver using electroplating techniques developed during the 19th century.

Authenticity is usually verified by examining maker marks, hallmarks, or stamps on the base, along with natural wear patterns and the weight distribution typical of period manufacturing methods.

They can be used as a striking centrepiece on a dining table or placed on a mantelpiece to introduce a reflective metallic accent that contrasts against modern minimalist finishes.

Silver-plated items should be cleaned gently using a specialist silver polish and a soft microfibre cloth, avoiding harsh abrasives that could wear through the thin silver layer to the base metal.
