FAQs

Art Deco design, prominent from the 1920s to 1930s, is characterised by geometric precision, symmetry, and stylised motifs such as engine-turned engraving.

These frames typically feature a solid sterling silver front panel mounted on a wooden or velvet-backed support with an easel stand.

Authentic pieces bear official assay office hallmarks indicating silver purity, alongside maker marks and often patent numbers for the backing mechanism.

Pair the metallic sheen with contrasting textures like matte wood surfaces or leather-bound books on a mantelpiece or side table to add a layer of historical sophistication.

Use a soft microfibre cloth specifically formulated for silver to gently remove tarnish, avoiding abrasive polishes that can wear away delicate engine-turned engravings.
