Antique Globe Wernicke Oak Stacking Bookcase

1900 - 1920
Description

A lovely example of an early 20th century stacking oak bookcase in the style of Globe Wernicke. It has three glazed sections with an 'up and over' sliding door and below is a long drawer with metal Art Nouveau style handles. It is a good quality piece standing on a nicely finished plinth with metal strapping and the oak has a lovely warm honey colour.

As is typical with these pieces each section splits down so it can be easily transported.

It is in very good condition for its age and displays well. It is not without some minor marks and knocks but no major damages or anything detrimental. The bookcase has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
