FAQs

Georgian furniture spans the reigns of the four Georges, characterised by functional utility combined with regional craftsmanship, often utilising local timbers and traditional joinery techniques.

These stools typically feature frames made from native hardwoods such as oak, ash, or elm, paired with seats woven from natural marsh rush or seagrass.

Authenticity is indicated by period-appropriate tool marks, hand-turned framing, traditional peg joinery, and natural wear patterns consistent with age on both the timber and the woven rush.

Position the piece as an accent item in a living space or bedroom, allowing its organic textures and aged timber to provide a grounding contrast to modern furnishings.

Keep the piece away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent the timber from splitting and the natural rush from becoming brittle, applying occasional microcrystalline wax to the wood.
