Archival Detail
Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Sheraton Revival furniture refers to late 19th and early 20th-century British cabinetry crafted in the style of Thomas Sheraton. It is characterised by neoclassical proportions, fine wood marquetry, delicate line inlay, and slender tapered legs.

These pieces are typically constructed from a solid mahogany or oak frame veneered with fine mahogany, featuring decorative inlays made of contrasting timbers such as satinwood, boxwood, and rosewood, alongside cast brass hardware.

Authentic Edwards and Roberts pieces frequently feature a stamped name on the top edge of a drawer or lock plate. High-grade construction details, such as finely hand-dovetailed oak drawer linings and precise timber marquetry, are standard indicators.

A pair of inlaid commodes can be positioned symmetrically as bedside tables or placed along a hallway to introduce warm wood tones and classical craftsmanship into a contemporary minimalist setting.

Maintain the finish by dusting with a dry microfibre cloth and applying a high-quality beeswax polish sparingly along the timber grain once a year. Avoid exposure to direct heat or sunlight to prevent veneer movement.
