In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

FAQs

Hanau silver refers to items manufactured in the German town of Hanau during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, often created in the style of earlier master silversmiths.

These items are typically crafted from solid silver and utilise techniques such as casting, embossing, and repoussA to achieve highly detailed figurative scenes.

Authenticity is generally identified by pseudo-hallmarks or German export marks stamped on the silver, alongside the distinctive heavy weight and intricate cast detailing characteristic of the period.

Such decorative objects can be placed on a bookshelf, coffee table, or mantelpiece to add a touch of historical metallic texture and reflective interest to contemporary spaces.

Antique silver should be gently cleaned with a soft microfibre cloth and specialised silver polish only when necessary, avoiding abrasive materials to protect the delicate surface details.
