This splendid EARLY ENGLISH OAK CHEST OF DRAWERS dates from circa 1680.
It is made in one piece of pegged construction with side runners to the drawers, attractive carved apron, split bobbin-turned decoration and moulded detail to the drawer fronts.
It is of small proportions, in both height and width, standing just 28.25 inches (71.5 cm) high and measuring 32 inches (81 cm) wide.
As one might expect, the drawers are nailed rather than jointed. In generally good, original condition having been with one family for several decades.
