School House Antiques has dated this Jacobean Geometric Oak Chest to the 17th Century.
The façade is divided by multiple horizontal bands of bobbin (bead) turning, with vertical bobbin mouldings framing a series of raised geometric panels that form distinctive star and lozenge motifs. The arrangement comprises four drawers, all with matching geometric patterns.

It retains a deep, mellow original colour and excellent surface patina. All timbers are original, including the top and the back boards, which remain in their honest, unrestored state. The brass drop handles and keyhole escutcheons are still in place, and the chest stands on block feet with a continuous base moulding.

A rare and particularly well-preserved example of this distinctive late 17th-century form — full of character, architectural presence and integrity. The chest separates it to two parts for ease of movement.
