Antique desk of the Edwardian period of fine quality. This beautiful painted antique desk is known as a Carlton house desk and is painted beautifully in polychrome. This antique desk is of satinwood which is the finer woods used for the more prestigious and luxurious furniture created by master cabinet makers. Carlton house antique desks date from the Georgian 18th century, Victorian 19th century and very early Edwardian 20th century 1901 to 1916. This particular antique desk has a sliding writing table section, as well as numerous drawers. This Carlton house writing desk is probably one of the finest quality satinwood polychrome painted antique desks I’ve come across for a long time.
