Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Presentation silver miniatures were typically commissioned as commemorative gifts, trophies, or symbolic tokens to mark special achievements, retirements, or corporate milestones. During the early 20th century, skilled silversmiths crafted these scale replicas to showcase precision metallurgy and enamel work.

Pieces from this period predominantly feature high-purity sterling silver combined with vitreous enamel, which is fused glass powder fired at high temperatures. The underlying structures were often mounted on ebonised wood or hardstone bases to provide contrast and stability.

Authentic British silver items feature a full set of official hallmarks stamped into the metal, including the lion passant for sterling purity, an assay office symbol, a specific date letter, and a makers mark. The crispness of these stamps and the quality of the enamel application help verify provenance.

A silver miniature functions as a sophisticated accent piece when placed on a tailored desk, within a glass display cabinet, or atop a stack of design books on a bookshelf. Its metallic polish and rich enamel colour add depth and texture to modern office or library spaces.

Carefully dust the object using a soft, dry microfibre cloth, avoiding abrasive polishes on the enamel surfaces as they can cause micro-scratches. Silver elements can be gently polished with a dedicated silver cloth, taking care not to snag or lift any delicate metal joins or enamel borders.
