Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the 1860s.
It is a great size, with lots of storage space in the upper and lower compartments.
It has rounded corners at the top and bottom, all the doors have arched tops and this sits on a plinth base.
The quality is excellent, this is a very practical and good looking item. There are locking keys for the upper and lower compartments, this comes apart in two sections for ease of transport. The top should be screwed to the bottom for safety, the screws are included.
We have had this re-polished, it is in lovely condition for its age, with a gorgeous colour tone and patina. There are just a few minor bumps and marks here and there under the polish, commensurate for age.
