The Edwardian period, spanning from 1901 to 1910, is characterised by a lighter, more refined aesthetic that often drew inspiration from earlier eighteenth-century designs, reflecting the elegance of the late British empire.

These items typically combined heavy-lead crystal or cut glass bodies with hallmarked sterling silver mounts, hinges, and accompanying chain-hung bottle tickets or labels.

Authentication relies on checking the silver components for clear British hallmarks indicating the assay office, makers mark, and date letter corresponding to the Edwardian decade, alongside inspecting the hand-cut glass base for age-appropriate wear.

This piece can be displayed on a home bar cart, a mirrored tray, or a traditional mahogany sideboard to add a touch of reflective metallic detail and historical character to a room.

Silver components should be cleaned gently with a non-abrasive proprietary polish, avoiding contact with the glass, while the crystal should be washed in warm, soapy water and dried thoroughly with a lint-free cloth.
