Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Edwardian era, spanning the reign of King Edward VII from 1901 to 1910, was characterised by a revival of classical styles, refined craftsmanship, and the production of specialized pocket and vanity items.

These items were typically fabricated from sterling silver, often featuring hallmarks stamped into the metal to indicate the maker, standard of purity, assay office, and year of manufacture.

Authentication relies on identifying clear makers marks, such as the Sampson Mordan stamp, alongside official British assay office hallmarks denoting the specific year of testing and silver standard.

Antique silver accessories can be displayed within a glass-topped cabinet, on a desk organiser, or arranged on a tray alongside other historical curiosities to add texture and historical narrative to a space.

Antique silver should be cleaned sparingly using a specialized non-abrasive silver cloth to remove tarnish while preserving the original patina, avoiding harsh chemical dips that can damage historical surfaces.
