Large Antique Silver Plated Jewellery Casket by Elkington & Company

19th century
Description

This is an elaborate large jewellery casket by Elkington & Company. Their makers mark together with the words Published By is stamped underneath. Rectangular in shape. This has very ornate relief work around. Showing putti around scrolls of leaves, dolphins and shells plus dragons around a shield on the lid. Face of a female amongst scrolls and leaves either end. Hinged lid with a large curved handle. The inside is lined with wood. Standing on four large realistic paw feet. The base of the lid has a stepped design. This is sold in original plate with some copper showing here and there. c.1870 British made.

Width: 17.5cm (7")

Height is approximately: 23cm (9")
