Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the 1940s.
On the back is a good fastening pin and next to this the designers mark for Knut A Rasmussen, plus marks stating '925 S, Norway sterling'.

Rasmussen produced his pieces in Oslo and died in the 1950's. He produced very unusual modernist jewellery and was very much a forerunner in style: his jewellery is admired and very collectable.

Great for a collector of Norwegian jewellery. Unusual brooch and in very good condition, other than some very slight wear to the gilding on the side that can be seen in the last picture.
Period: circa 1940's.
