Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

FAQs

During the Victorian era, the industrial revolution allowed for the mass production of cast and wrought iron beds, which were prized for their hygiene and durability compared to traditional wooden frames.

These beds typically utilised a combination of cast iron for decorative components and structural wrought iron or tubular steel for the frame, often finished with painted or enamelled coatings.

Authentic pieces often feature hand-poured joint connections, original patina, maker stamps, and specific casting imperfections that distinguish them from modern reproductions.

Pairing the industrial metal structure with soft, neutral textiles, crisp linens, and contemporary minimalist decor creates a balanced contrast in a modern bedroom.

Maintenance involves dusting with a dry cloth, avoiding abrasive chemical cleaners to protect the original finish, and periodically checking stability of joints.
