Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The George V period, spanning from 1910 to 1936, often featured a revival of classical motifs influenced by earlier Georgian and Neoclassical styles, alongside cleaner lines emerging towards the Art Deco era.

Authentic period candlesticks are typically crafted from sterling silver, often weighted at the base with resin, plaster, or wood to provide stability, and frequently reinforced with an internal iron rod.

Authenticity is verified by examining the hallmarks stamped on the piece, which typically include the assay office mark, the lion passant for sterling silver, the date letter for the specific year, and the makers mark.

They can be used as a striking centrepiece on a dining table or placed on a sideboard, contrasting polished metallic surfaces with matte textures and natural materials like linen or dark wood.

Silver should be cleaned sparingly using a non-abrasive silver cloth and specialised polish to preserve the patina, avoiding harsh chemical dips that can damage weighted bases or remove desirable ageing details.
