Description

A superbly cast very good sized French silver (actually higher grade that sterling being 950 standard) animal figure. It is hallmarked with the Minerva head mark and a makers mark which is difficult to read. I would date it to the early to mid 20th century. It has been beautifully designed being in the form of a cockerel. It is in perfect condition being free from dings splits and repairs. It measures approx. 8 inches (20cm) long beak to tail by 9.5 inches (23.8cm) tall and weighs 810 grams (total silver weight i.e not filled). A very well made very impressive piece.
