An elegant, gently timeworn country house antique Caucasian or Anatolian tribal rug, having retained an excellent colour whilst evidence of some wear, please see photos.
A blue ground central field of decoration with vibrant repeating theme borders, showing decorative motifs.
We consider this to be an excellent example and in mostly very good condition for age and use whilst there is sufficient evidence of wear, not detrimental to use.., there are thread separation at the central seams, made in a narrow loom, these are not tears and follow the seam, we will have these tightened in our workshop before dispatching to the buyer.
An exquisite country aesthetic, oriental flat weave kilim, discribed as Caucasian and might well be Anatolian, the tribes relocated there, taking practices and techniques with them, circa 1900 to 1920, perhaps earlier.
