Danish silver gilt and white enamel ''Daisy'' brooch. 1950s. By Anton Michelsen.
 
Anton Michelsen established his company in Copenhagen in 1841 and became one of the most important jewellery families in Denmark. After a short while the company received it''s first commission from the Royal Family. They company has been part if Georg Jensen since 1985.
 
The Daisy design was first developed in 1940, when the now retired Queen Margrethe was born and christened. Her mother Queen Ingrid was presented with a special version of the Daisy to commemorate the event. The Daisy is also the Danish national flower.
 
This beautiful brooch measures 5cm diameter. Weight 30.6g. It is he largest version of it''s type. There is a small silver detail on one petal, which is quite rare. It has an extra security clasp with the pin. Perfect condition. Comes with a vintage box from a jewellers in Aberdeen.
