Danish silver gilt and enamel brooch with 5 flying ''Nordic Swans''. 1940s. By Erik Magnussen.
 
Erik Magnussen was born in 1884, and started the Erik Magnussen company at an early age in Copenhagen. In 1925 he emigrated to The United States, where he was based till 1939, when he returned to Denmark and opened another studio. He died in 1961.
 
This superb brooch depicts the 5 Nordic Countries - Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland. It measures 6cm x 2cm. Weight 11.1g. Excellent condition with the enamel in perfect order.
