Attractive Antique Turkish Kula Ghiordes Village Prayer Rug. West Anatolia. 158cm X 99cm.

Description

Late 19th century.

A very nice and attractive prayer rug with central ivory coloured ground.

The overall design is typically of ghiordes origin but probably made further north near kula in one of the many villages of that region.

Note the different coloured side bindings being of all the colours in the main carpet.

There aren't many colours used which what in my opinion makes it visually quite striking and would look beautiful hung from a wall.

All ends and sides secured. Even pile. Hand washed and de-dusted by myself.

Size is 5 foot 2 inches X 3 foot 3 inches. 158cm X 99cm. Excluding fringes.
