First quarter 20th century.

An attractive bergama prayer rug with chevron flower heads forming the "prayer arch"

The rams horns to each end is particularly nice.

In oriental rugs,volume 4,turkish,k zipper & c fritzsche,page 23,plate 21 there is a small mat with the exact same main border pattern on an ivory ground and overall this perhaps representing the last of authentic turkish village weaving from the early 20th century.

Great for wall mounting as a feature,see last images.

3 foot 5 inches by 2 foot 11 inches. 104cm X 89cm. All woollen hand knotted construction.

Hand washed/de-dusted all ends and sides secured.
