Circa 1900. Exhibition quality burr walnut bureau by ‘Whytock & Reid of Edinburgh’ with many features associated with ‘Sir Robert Lorimer’. The freestanding, slope front in the finest quarter veneer burr-walnut panel with a very stylish heart shaped escutcheon, opens to a well fitted interior with pigeon holes and drawers (2 secret compartments) above three short drawers with a shaped frieze to the front and sides, raised on elegant cabriole legs with chamfered fore-edge finishing on stylized trifid feet
