Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

FAQs

Art Nouveau lighting is characterised by organic forms, fluid lines, and motifs inspired by nature, often utilising techniques like cameo glass to create rich, multi-layered colour effects.

These pieces typically combine acid-etched cameo glass shades with patinated bronze, brass, or wrought iron bases to support the electrical or oil-burning components.

Authenticity is evaluated through examination of the glass-making technique, the weight and finish of the metal mounts, and the presence of period signatures or foundry marks.

Position the lamp on a dark wood sideboard or side table where it can serve as a focal point, allowing its illuminated glass shade to cast warm, diffused light across the room.

Clean the glass gently using a soft, dry cloth or a slightly damp microfibre towel, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners that might damage the surface finish or patination.
