A beautiful rare heavy English Victorian antique solid sterling silver gilt bowl. It is hallmarked for London1890 with the maker being John Aldwinckle & Thomas Slater. It has been superbly made being ornately embossed with fruit and the green man and is supported on four cast ornate dragon handle/feet, possibly a copy from the 17th century. It is in superb condition, having no dings, splits, holes or repairs. It measures approx. 6.75 inches (16.6cm) wide including the handles 5.5 inches (14cm) excluding them by 2.25 inches (5.8cm) tall to the top of the rim and weighs 268 grams. A beautiful rare piece.
