Antique Wrought Iron Rushlight Holder

Description

A wrought iron nip rushlight holder with domed metal base, dating from c1800. I always like the simplicity of these desirable little things - the small counterweight on the mobile side ensures that anything is held securely. Rushlights were a more affordable option than candles so were commonly used in poorer dwellings and in servants areas.

Condition: Good condition, wear and patina in accordance with age.
