Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Clean gently with a soft, lint-free cloth and mild soapy water, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners or ultrasonic bath treatments that could compromise the vitreous enamel. Store flat in a dry, fabric-lined box to prevent surface scratching and slow down natural metal oxidisation.

Wearing vintage silver gilt enamel earrings adds a touch of mid-century botanical design to contemporary attire. When not worn, fine jewellery pieces can be displayed on velvet-lined trinket trays or inside glass cases as decorative vanity accents.

Authentic examples bear makers marks or silver purity stamps on the reverse, such as 925S, STERLING, or recognised Scandinavian workshop hallmarks. The enamel work should be smooth, without fractures, set within distinct gilded borders with precise metalwork detailing.

These pieces are crafted from sterling silver finished with a layer of gold plating, known as silver gilt or vermeil. The floral petals are decorated with vitreous glass enamel using guilloche or hand-applied champleve techniques, featuring a textured or beaded centre.

Enamel daisy motifs gained widespread popularity in Denmark during the mid-20th century, notably following the birth of Princess Margrethe of Denmark in 1940. Local silversmiths produced guilloche and hand-enamelled floral designs in sterling silver gilt, creating an enduring trend in Scandinavian jewellery design throughout the 1950s.
