Antique Edwardian Solid Silver Pipe Case

This is an unusual solid sterling silver pipe case, dating from the Edwardian era.
 
It is clearly hallmarked for Birmingham 1904, with the maker''s mark of William Henry Sparrow. There is also a Patent Number, 437046.
 
The outside is covered in fish scales with a press fastening to open the case. The hinge is firm. Internal lining is dark blue velvet, with moulding for a pipe stem and separate bowl. It is a tactile piece in excellent condition.
