A fine example of a sterling silver spirit kettle with an oval boat shaped panelled form with embossed scroll and foliate decoration to each panel, further ornamented with a band of scrolling acanthus leaf and floral decoration encircling the rim.
It has a hinged domed hallmarked cover which retains the original hallmarked sterling silver finial. It has a fluted decorated swan necked spout and is fitted with a shaped hallmarked swing handle with ivory insulator rings.
The kettle is fitted to the original fully hallmarked stand, with the original hallmarked pins and detachable hallmarked spirit burner. The kettle stand is supported by four shaped acanthus leaf decorated legs.
It is hallmarked for Sheffield, 1901, Alexander Clark Manufacturing Co. It is an excellent quality piece and it weighs approximately 1133g.
It is in excellent condition for its age and displays beautifully. There are some faint surface marks and some minor signs of age and use but no major damages or anything detrimental. It has been gently cleaned and polished is ready for use.
