Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Tekke Turkmen carpets were crafted by nomadic Tekke tribes within Central Asia, historically under the influence of the Emirate of Bukhara. These textiles are characterized by their repeating octagonal medallion motifs, called guls, which served as tribal heraldry and family identifiers.

These carpets are hand-knotted using high-grade hand-spun wool for both the pile and foundation. Vibrant madder root and natural vegetable dyes create the signature deep red, terracotta, navy, and ivory palette.

Authentic period examples display asymmetric knotting, fine wool density, flexible handles, and traditional Tekke main guls connected by fine grid lines. Flat-woven end skirts, known as elems, often feature distinct secondary geometric patterning.

Rich red tribal carpets provide visual grounding in contemporary and traditional interiors alike. They are frequently paired with polished timber flooring, leather seating, or layered under modern furniture to introduce warmth and geometric texture.

Regular vacuuming using suction only, avoiding rotating beater bars, helps preserve wool fibres. Professional specialist hand-washing, placing high-quality rug underlays underneath, and rotating the carpet to ensure even light exposure will maintain structural integrity.
