Antique Sarab Carpet Runner

1900 - 1920
Description

This is a pretty hand woven woollen Sarab runner carpet dating from around 1920. The runner is in very soft lustrous wool and has typical Sarab linked lozenge design. The nine lozenges in warm red, pink and blue highlighted with green and orange are set off beautifully against the ivory field, with corresponding half lozenges to the sides and triple borders. A very pretty design. The Sarab runner is in excellent ready to use condition and has neat proportions measuring 292 cms by 88 cms.
