In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
Both sets of doors come with working keys. The top part of the dresser is slightly set back and the whole piece splits into two parts for transport.
It is a good quality piece with arched panels and the mahogany has mellowed to a lovely colour over the years and the whole piece has a nice aged patina. It is a good large size and would lend itself to a bookcase or display cabinet.
It is in good condition throughout and is strong and sturdy. It is not without some signs of age and use, some small marks and minor knocks but no major damages. There have been a few minor repairs and there are some old repaired shrinkage splits in the sides but nothing untoward or detrimental. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
