George V Solid Silver Jewellery Box by Synyer & Beddoes, Birmingham 1916

1900 - 1920
Description

This delightful silver jewellery box was made in Birmingham in 1916 by Synyer & Beddoes. The circular cover with engine-turned decorations surrounding a vacant reserve. The plain circular body raised on leaf-capped legs. Gilt inner lid and original blue velvet interior.

Black Morocco leather base.

Hallmarks:

S*B for Synyer & Beddoes.

Birmingham Assay Mark.

Lion Passant.

Date letter "t" for 1918.

Condition:

Reasonable.

Engine-turned engravings on the cover a little worn at places from too much polishing over the years..

A couple of very minor flea bites dings at places on the sides. commensurate with age.

Strong hinge.

Clean original interior.

Dimensions:

Diameter: 6cm / 2.3 inches.

Height: 3cm / 1.2 inches.
