A fantastic antique burr yew Carlton House desk, made in England and dating from around the 1900-1920 period.
This is of outstanding quality with many lovely features. It is a great size, with lots of storage space in the curved upper section and lower drawers. It stands on tapered legs with brass casters, there is an inset leather writing surface which has tooled edges and a gorgeous patina. The top surfaces and drawer fronts are beautifully cross banded, there is a pierced brass upper gallery and high quality brass handles. The drawers have fine, hand cut dovetailed joints and this has a beautifully finished back, it looks amazing from all angles.
The burr yew wood grain patterns and colour tones are stunning, we have had this re-polished and the condition is excellent for its age.
