The work is ascribed to the artist on the reverse and dated C.1935. Frank Hughes was born at St Pancras, London and studied at St Martin's School of Art. He was influential in the London art scene of the time and exhibited at The Royal Academy through the fifties, he was also a full member of The New English Art Club. A fine example of mid-century landscape painting mounted in a modern frame.
