Art Nouveau jewellery, flourishing from the late 19th century to the First World War, is characterised by organic forms, sinuous flowing lines, and inspiration drawn from nature and the natural world.

Jewellery from this period typically utilised solid gold, often paired with semi-precious stones such as amethysts, pearls, and opals, featuring hand-crafted bezels, millegrain detailing, and structural wirework.

Authentic pieces often display period-appropriate hallmarks, traditional C-clasps or safety pin mechanisms, and hand-finished metalwork that exhibits natural signs of age and wear.

This piece can be worn as a statement lapel accessory on tailored jackets, fastened to a silk scarf, or displayed within a glass shadow box frame as part of a curated collection.

Historic jewellery should be stored individually in soft-lined compartments away from moisture, cleaned gently with a soft dry cloth, and kept away from ultrasonic cleaners or harsh chemical dips.
