A charming late Victorian period inlaid mahogany bonheur du jour circa 1895. Of excellent construction in solid mahogany with attractive mahogany veneers. The top section with with a domed top over a recessed mirror and flanked by a pair of stationary cupboards which are surmounted by a brass gallery. The lower section with a single drawer and a fold over writing slope (fitted with its original black leather writing surface). All standing on tapering square legs, united by an under-tier and terminating in spade feet. All doors and drawers are lockable (keys supplied). Decorated with inlaid detailing and banding throughout. This lovely desk has been sympathetically refinished in our workshops and is now offered for sale in excellent condition.
