Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Preservation requires minimal intervention; silver should be kept in dry conditions and gently dusted with a soft microfiber cloth, avoiding abrasive polishes that can wear away fine detailing and hallmarks.

Cased sets of antique buttons make excellent objects of curiosity and can be displayed under glass cloches, within shadow boxes, or on surface displays in studies and dressing rooms.

Authenticity is determined by examining the presence of official silver hallmarks, makers marks, traditional patination, and the construction methods consistent with early 20th-century metalworking.

These pieces are typically crafted from sterling silver using techniques such as openwork piercing, stamping, embossing, and chasing, frequently mounted on fabric or metal shanks.

During the late Victorian and Edwardian periods, decorative buttons made from sterling silver became highly fashionable as adornments for tailored garments, blouses, and waistcoats, often retailed in fitted presentation cases.
